While I never thought the day would arrive when I would have either the
need or desire to pay tribute to Bon Jovi...
after a successful day getting my artist visa from the Ausländerbehörde,
a bit of hat tipping is indeed now in order.
Thanks to the existence of this wild haired and wild hearted rocker,
my visa case worker has found in Bon Jovi both her idol and an unprecedented
affinity towards his fellow American countrymen (and women).
While I was not at liberty to document the Bon Jovi shrine that is my case
worker's office, just imagine a room full of many many photos like this.
So thank you, Bon Jovi. I owe you one!

A-B-C easy as 1-2-3
I just spent a titillating morning at the Ausländerbehörde (Foreigner's Office)
and was absolutely mesmerized and humbled by their unbelievably
complex numbering system.
This is the waiting room and number board.
My number is 784.
I know it might look like I missed my turn,
but my number actually wasn't called yet.
(Obviously)
Nope, still not yet.
Some things, I've learned,
are really far beyond my limited comprehension skills.
On that note,
let's take a break and enjoy something that everyone (except
for the Ausländerbehörde) can understand.
(No offense, of course. I'd still like to get my visa.)
